Last updated: August 2026. These terms govern quotations, orders, manufacture, installation and servicing carried out by Roller Door South Africa. They apply unless we have signed a separate written agreement with you that says otherwise.
1. Quotations
Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise, and are based on the dimensions and conditions recorded at the site survey. Where an opening differs materially from what was surveyed, or where the site is not ready for installation on the agreed date, we will requote or charge for the abortive visit.
Prices exclude VAT unless expressly stated. Steel, aluminium and component pricing moves with the market; where a quotation is accepted outside its validity period we reserve the right to reprice.
2. Orders and deposits
An order is placed when you accept a quotation in writing and pay any deposit stated on it. Because doors are manufactured to your measured opening, deposits on made-to-order goods are non-refundable once manufacture has begun.
3. Site access and readiness
You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the opening on the agreed installation date, together with a suitable power supply where the door is motorised. Structural work, electrical work beyond the final connection, and builder work are excluded unless itemised on the quotation.
4. Lead times
Lead times quoted are estimates given in good faith and are typically two to three weeks for standard doors from acceptance of quotation. Fire-rated assemblies and non-standard sizes take longer. We are not liable for consequential loss arising from a delay, including loss of trade, production or profit.
5. Payment
Unless credit terms have been agreed in writing, the balance is payable on completion of installation. Overdue amounts bear interest at the maximum rate permitted by law. Ownership of goods passes to you only on receipt of payment in full; risk passes on delivery to site.
6. Warranty
Workmanship is warranted for 12 months from the date of installation. Motors, operators and bought-in components carry the warranty of their manufacturer, which we register on your behalf where applicable.
The warranty excludes: fair wear and tear; impact damage, including forklift and vehicle strike; misuse or operation of a door that is visibly faulty; corrosion where a specification was chosen against our written recommendation; unauthorised modification or repair by others; and damage arising from failure to maintain the door.
7. Maintenance
Roller shutter doors are working machinery. Spring life is measured in operating cycles rather than elapsed time, and doors in high-cycle use require proportionally more frequent servicing. Failure to maintain a door reasonably may invalidate the workmanship warranty.
8. Safety
Powered doors are installed with safety devices and set within safe closing force at handover. You must not disable, bypass or remove any safety device. Torsion springs store considerable energy and must not be adjusted or replaced by anyone other than a competent technician.
9. Emergency callouts
Callout fees apply to emergency attendance and are quoted before a technician is dispatched. After-hours, weekend and public holiday rates are higher and will be stated at the time of the call. Attendance times are given in good faith and are not guaranteed.
10. Cancellation
Orders may be cancelled in writing before manufacture begins, subject to an administration charge. Once manufacture has begun, made-to-measure goods cannot be cancelled and the full order value remains payable.
11. Limitation of liability
Our liability is limited to the repair or replacement of defective goods or the re-performance of defective work, at our election. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights conferred by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court.
