Last updated: August 2026. This policy explains what personal information Roller Door South Africa collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to align with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Roller Door South Africa manufactures, installs, services and repairs roller shutter and garage doors from our factory in Tarlton, Krugersdorp. For the purposes of POPIA we are the responsible party for the information described here.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Name, telephone number, email address, town or suburb, site address and the details of your enquiry, submitted through our quote forms, by email, by telephone or over WhatsApp.
- Information collected automatically. Standard web server logs including IP address, browser type and pages visited, together with analytics data where analytics is enabled.
- Job records. Site details, door specifications, service history and photographs taken during survey, installation or repair.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quotation
- To carry out a survey, manufacture, installation, service or repair
- To keep a service history so we can identify the correct parts for your door years later
- To invoice you and keep the accounting records the law requires
- To improve the website and understand which pages are useful
Consent and lawful basis
Where you submit an enquiry, you consent to us contacting you about it. We do not add enquiry contacts to marketing lists without a separate opt-in, and any marketing communication we send carries an unsubscribe option.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where necessary: with our own installation and service teams; with couriers where parts are being delivered to you; with our accountants and, where required, with regulators or a court. Where a supplier processes information on our behalf, they are bound to use it only for that purpose.
Where it is stored
Enquiry and job records are held on business systems with access restricted to staff who need it. Some service providers, including website hosting and email, may store data outside South Africa; where that is the case we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are retained for up to 24 months. Records relating to completed work are retained for the life of the door plus the period required by tax and company law, because knowing a door’s original specification is what allows us to service it correctly a decade later.
Cookies
This site uses cookies necessary for it to function, and may use analytics cookies to understand how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its processing, or withdraw consent for marketing. Requests can be made using the details on our contact page and will be answered within a reasonable period. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
