Roller Shutter Door Prices
Estimated roller shutter door prices in Gauteng for supply and installation — manual, motorised, aluminium, perforated, industrial, galvanised and powder-coated doors, plus repair costs.
If you are looking for transparent roller shutter door prices in Gauteng, this page is the honest version: real ranges for supply and installation, and a plain explanation of what pushes a door to the top or bottom of its range.
We manufacture at our own factory in Tarlton, Krugersdorp and install with our own teams, so the figure you are quoted covers the door, the drive and the installation from one company rather than a chain of margins. Pricing follows door type, opening size, material and what the opening needs before a door can go in.
The guide below covers Gauteng, where the bulk of our work is and where no travel is added. We install and service in all nine provinces; for coastal and outlying sites we schedule the survey and installation as one trip and show any travel separately on the quote.
Roller shutter door price list
Estimated ranges for supply and installation. Where a door falls in its range depends on the opening size, the slat specification, whether it is motorised, and what the opening needs before a door can go in.

Prices exclude VAT and are a guide only. They vary with door size, motorisation, site conditions and custom requirements. A costed quote follows a free site survey, usually within one working day.
What moves the price
- Opening size. Width drives cost faster than height. A curtain spanning seven metres needs a heavier slat gauge and a stronger barrel than one spanning three, and that is before the drive is considered.
- How often the door moves. Spring life is measured in cycles, not years. A dock door opening fifty times a day needs high-cycle springs and a heavier drive than a workshop door at identical dimensions.
- Material and finish. Galvanised costs more than painted steel upfront and less over a decade on anything facing weather, washdown or coastal air. Powder coating to a specific colour adds to both.
- Manual or motorised. A motor, remotes, safety edges, photocells and battery backup are each a line on the quote. On a wide industrial door a manual chain hoist is often impractical regardless of budget.
- What the opening needs first. Steelwork, a lintel, or moving power to the correct side of the opening are itemised separately so you can see what is door and what is building.
- Access and timing. Overnight and weekend installation costs more per hour and almost always less overall than losing a trading or dispatch day.
Repairs versus replacement
Most repairs land at the lower end of the repair range. A limit switch reset or a safety beam realignment is a callout charge. A spring replacement on a wide industrial door is two technicians and most of a morning, which is where the upper end comes from.
A curtain with a few damaged slats does not need replacing — those slats swap out individually for a fraction of a new door. Where a door genuinely is finished we say so rather than sell you a sequence of repairs that never quite fixes it.
Costs and quoting
What people ask about price
Because a roller shutter door is made to your opening rather than sold off a shelf. A three-metre workshop door and a seven-metre dock door are both “industrial roller shutter doors” and they are not remotely the same product. The range covers that span honestly; the survey turns it into a fixed number.
Yes. The ranges are for supply and installation by our own teams. What they exclude is builder work — steelwork, a new lintel, or moving power to the correct side of the opening — which is itemised separately on the quote so you can see what is door and what is building.
No. The figures shown exclude VAT. Your quote will show it separately.
Yes, within our standard travel radius, which covers Gauteng comfortably. For coastal and outlying sites we schedule the survey and the installation as a single trip so you are not paying travel twice, and any travel is shown on the quote rather than buried in it.
For a straightforward replacement into a known opening, often yes as a ballpark. For anything else we would rather measure first. A phone figure for a door nobody has looked at is a figure that changes on the invoice, and that is not a conversation either of us wants.
Thirty days. Steel and component pricing moves with the market, so beyond that we may need to reprice — we will tell you if that happens rather than surprising you at invoice.
Yes, on made-to-order doors, because manufacture starts against your measurements. The balance is due on completion of installation unless credit terms have been agreed in writing.
Rarely, and the reason is specification rather than workmanship. An underspecified spring or an undersized motor works fine for a year and then becomes an annual callout. Ask any quote what slat gauge, spring rating and duty cycle it is based on — if the answer is vague, that is the saving.
Next step
Send the opening size. We will do the rest.
A rough width and height is enough to start a quote. If a door is stuck right now, call the standby number instead.
