Roller shutter & garage doors in Sandton. Surveyed, fitted and serviced across Gauteng.

Industries We Serve

Retail, warehousing, manufacturing, automotive, cold chain, mining, agriculture, estates and government — and what changes in the door specification for each.

A roller shutter door is not one product. The right slat, drive and finish for a fresh produce cold store is wrong for a shopping centre frontage, and both are wrong for a mining maintenance bay. After two decades we specify by what happens on the other side of the opening rather than by opening size alone.

These are the sectors we work in most, and what changes in each.

Retail & Shopfronts

Shopping centre units, high-street frontages and trade counters. The shutter has to secure the opening completely after hours while keeping the display visible — many centre leases require exactly that. Perforated and transparent curtains dominate here, powder-coated to the centre’s shopfront specification rather than supplied in whatever colour was in stock. Installation is almost always after trading hours.

Warehousing & Logistics

Distribution centres and freight depots run the hardest-working doors we build. A dock door cycling fifty times a day reaches the end of its spring life in a fraction of the time of a workshop door at identical dimensions, so duty rating rather than opening size decides the specification. We phase multi-bay replacements so dispatch never stops, and high-cycle sites are the clearest case for a service contract anywhere in our client base.

Manufacturing & Industrial

Factories, engineering works and fabrication shops: wide openings, constant forklift traffic and doors that cannot be the reason a line stops. Galvanised slat as standard, reinforced bottom rails where vehicles operate, and drives rated against measured usage. We work weekends and planned shutdowns because on a production site that is usually the only window that exists.

Automotive

Assembly plants, tier-one and tier-two suppliers, dealerships and workshops. The supply chain runs quality systems that expect documented evidence, so every service visit produces a written report covering closing force, safety devices and component condition — which is what closes an audit finding. Dealership frontages add an appearance requirement that a workshop door does not have.

Cold Chain & Food

Cold stores, packhouses, fresh produce markets and food processing. Daily chemical washdown strips painted steel from the cut edges inward, and the refrigerated side adds constant condensation. Galvanised slat, sealed bearings and stainless fixings are specified as standard, and changeovers are scheduled overnight so the cold chain never lapses.

Mining & Heavy Industry

Mining support, smelting, steel and petrochemical sites — the widest openings we manufacture and the harshest conditions we service. Equipment maintenance bays need spans a pallet door never sees, and dust, heat and chemical aerosols attack hardware in ways ordinary weather does not. Petrochemical sites carry formal safety requirements that we build into the job rather than treat as an extra.

Agriculture

Packhouses, grain and implement sheds, and cold storage on farms. Openings are often wide enough for machinery rather than vehicles, sites are frequently a distance from any major centre, and dust is a constant. We schedule the survey and installation as one trip for outlying farms rather than charging travel twice.

Residential Estates & Body Corporates

Estates, complexes and sectional title developments. Insulated aluminium runs quieter and lighter than industrial galvanised steel, which matters when doors operate at 5am next to a neighbour’s bedroom. Estates usually want one specification across every unit and one colour from the approved scheme, and a group service contract covering the whole development is materially cheaper than owners calling individually.

Government & Municipal

Fleet depots, municipal workshops, parastatal facilities and public buildings. Work here runs through formal procurement, so specification compliance, itemised pricing, installation certificates and compliance documentation are part of the deliverable rather than an afterthought.

Schools, Healthcare & Public Buildings

Institutional buildings where safety compliance carries as much weight as security. Powered doors are machinery operating in spaces the public walks through, so closing force testing, safety edges and photocells are non-negotiable — and where a rated fire shutter is involved we test release from the building fire panel rather than only at the door.

Not on this list?

The sector matters because it tells us the duty cycle, the environment and the compliance requirements — not because we only work in ten industries. Tell us what the building does and what goes through the opening, and we will specify from there.

Send the opening size. We will do the rest.

A rough width and height is enough to start a quote. If a door is stuck right now, call the standby number instead.
